Reminiscing, the one year on active duty was a piece of cake. As the army expression went, "could do it standing on my hands." The same could be said about the six years serving in the active reserve. I thought about it as two weeks JD Truck Training Centre at a beach resort without maid service. What was stark in my mind, that while in the reserves during the Korean War I did not get called back to active duty. I did not suffer the irreversible consequences of going to war.
I also want to stress that against what you might believe, trucking companies work very hard at hiring as many students as they can get. You would think that a company would want all the experience behind the wheel that they can get. Well, this is simply not true. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure why, but I have theories. And yap, you guessed it - I never have an unspoken thought - so I'll share them.
Accreditation refers to schools that have been accredited by an agency that has been approved by the U.S. Department of Education. Only Truck driving schools Truck licence that have been accredited are entitled to have access to federal student grants and loans. There are very few Truck driving school that have achieved accreditation because of the tough standards and the expensive process. A truck driving school that has been accredited, shows that they have met the highest standards for education.
Yes, the banks seem to always be touting the fact that they have money and want to fund small businesses. But besides taking collateral on your house, they will also want to collateralize your favorite dog and youngest child. Of course I'm joking - but have you tried to get traditional bank financing? Especially if you have not had a long time relationship with the bank?
Becoming a good HR Truck Licence driver, especially over the road or regional, requires far more knowledge than most people outside the industry would ever begin to imagine. Every state has its own set of rules, regulations, and procedures. Go from New York to Los Angeles and you will cross through about a dozen states. That's a dozen different sets of rules.
